Forecast ("we," "our," or "us") operates a prediction market simulation app that allows users to make predictions and participate in competitive leagues. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

When you use Forecast, we collect several types of information to provide and improve our service.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through our authentication provider (Supabase). This information is necessary to create and maintain your account, authenticate your identity, and communicate with you about your account.

Prediction and Activity Data: We collect information about your predictions, including the markets you participate in, your prediction amounts, outcomes, and performance history. In league mode, we also collect data about your league participation, rankings, and interactions with other league members.

Technical Information: We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the app, including your device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, IP address, and app usage statistics. This helps us maintain app functionality, diagnose technical issues, and improve performance.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to operate and improve Forecast. Your account information allows us to authenticate you and provide personalized app access. Your prediction and activity data powers the core functionality of the app, tracking your portfolio performance and calculating league standings. We use technical information to maintain app stability, fix bugs, and optimize the user experience.

We may also use your email address to send important service updates, security alerts, or changes to our terms. We will not send marketing communications without your explicit consent.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices. Authentication data is managed through Supabase with encrypted password storage. App data is stored in Cloudflare's D1 database with appropriate security measures. We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission between your device and our servers.

While we implement reasonable security measures, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share information only in limited circumstances: with service providers who help us operate the app (Supabase for authentication, Cloudflare for hosting and database services), when required by law or to protect our rights, or with your explicit consent.

In league mode, certain information like your username, predictions, and performance statistics may be visible to other league members as part of the competitive gameplay.

Your Rights and Choices

You have several rights regarding your personal information. You can access and review your account information and prediction history within the app. You can request deletion of your account by contacting us, though we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes. You can opt out of non-essential communications through your account settings.

Children's Privacy

Forecast is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
